Fandom For You : New Issues #1

Hey guys! So we did Fandom For You a few weeks ago and gave a few good jumping on points for a select group of characters to get a basic understanding of who those characters are. Well, we were also requested to give a guide on where to start reading current comics and we didn’t really follow through with that but that’s because the best way to read comics sequentially is to just jump in and try to pick up things as you go. Now every once in a while, one of the companies will give us some solid jumping on points in either reboots or just new storylines that are starting up. I’m here to help you find your way to get to those.

Avengers #1 By Jason Aaron and Ed McGuinness

This is the flagship title of Marvel’s Fresh Start reboot and it’s worth every penny!

First up, let’s just go over that team : Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Dr. Strange, Captain Marvel, Hulk(Jennifer Walters), Ghost Rider(Roberto Reyes) and of course, Black Panther! I mean, that’s 8 of the best marvel characters they have and you’re really getting a bit of everything from the Marvel Universe. I like that it’s the Main three Avengers and then five heroes that are finding new popularity due to the Film and Television worlds.

As for the issue itself, Aaron does a great job of Introducing everyone and is clearly working towards bringing the entire team together in the next few issues. I’d give this book to just about anyone that had a basic understanding of who these characters are. He tries to clear up where the main three have been over the last few years and does a pretty good job of it but there might be a few things that some people wouldn’t understand but for the most part it’s very accessible. He also manages to have a big story right at the start and hopefully he can maintain the same level of excitement throughout the series.

This is definitely an issue worth picking and feel free to come back here and talk to me about it when you do!
