E3 : Bethesda

Bethesda was both the weirdest conference we’ve seen and yet, in my opinion, one of the best so far. I’m not going in order here but these were their top hits from the conference.

I enjoyed the various videos they showed of different Bethesda fans, whether they were fans of the company or were employees themselves. I kinda wished that they had done a larger one with all of them at the beginning but instead we had a few different ones throughout the show and between the different reveals but it wasn’t too bad.

Fallout 76

Fallout 76 is a very interesting game cause despite the different issues they’ve had they’ve kept going forward and have been working  on building the game and improving it every step of the way and have been updating everything for free. I personally appreciate that they’re owning up to the fact that they’ve made mistakes and Todd Howard even referenced it in his opening monologue.

They already did a massive update back in April which made the game run a lot better and now they’re adding a Battle Royale mode in the game as well as new storylines and the return of Human NPC’s coming this fall. They’re trying to make it closer to a genuine Fallout game and I think that’s the best decision they could make as of this point. I know that a lot of people are making the statement : “Well, they should’ve already had NPC’s in the game.” which is true but would you rather have a company just say : “Oh, well we should’ve done something different.” or would you prefer a Company that’s genuinely trying to fix what they messed up.

I haven’t played the game yet myself, but from now until June 17th, they’re doing a free trial and I’m honestly eager to try it.

Free Trial Week : 06/10-06/17

Wastelanders Update : Fall 2019

ESO and Elder Scrolls Blades

Unfortunately, we heard nothing else about Elder Scrolls VI except for Todd Howard making the statement that it would be a Next-Gen Release as most of us thought.

They did show off some different things for Elder Scrolls Blades which are mainly just updates for the game such as adding Dragons, Arena battles and even bringing the game to the Switch. Your progression will carry over from the mobile game to the Switch so if you want to go ahead and try it on your phone then go ahead and download it fro Free!

They didn’t really show a whole lot for Elder Scrolls Online besides the awesome cinematic above. They’re going to keep doing more story quests for Year of The Dragon throughout 2019 but that’s it. I haven’t been able to try playing this since the base game came out in 2015 so sound off in the comments and let me know how it is!

Elder Scrolls Blades On Switch : Fall 2019

Ghostwire Tokyo

Ghostwire Tokyo is the new game from Tango Gameworks, the team behind the Evil Within series. Both of those games were received very well by critics and fans alike. I’m really excited to see how this game plays but unfortunately, we didn’t get to see any gameplay from this one yet and we didn’t get a release window because it’s pretty early in development. With the new consoles coming out next year, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a next-gen title.

Rage 2

They honestly didn’t show anything besides a trailer for the new cheat codes and the new expansion that’s coming out later this year. That’s not a bad thing cause the video is amazing but I would’ve preferred a release date for the expansion.

Wolfenstein Youngblood

Youngblood is about the twin daughters of BJ Blazkowicz searching for their missing Father while killing as many nazis as they can in 1980’s Paris.

The trailer showed some pretty awesome gameplay and I love the idea of Co-Op being such a big feature in the game. It all just looks like another game that’s all about killing more nazis. Nothing wrong with that.

Release Date : July 26th 2019

Deathloop

Arkane Studios, The creators of Dishonored, brought us their new game : Deathloop. It looks incredibly interesting as it’s a game about rivals Colt and Juliana. Both have a different reason for wanting to kill the other one, one wants to destroy the island they’re “trapped” on and the other one wants to save the island they’re “free” on. It looks like death will take a different aspect in this game with the characters constantly returning to life in the story itself. I’m very intrigued by it…but once again, my main issue is that as good as it looks, there was no gameplay shown.

Doom Eternal

They knew why we were here and they chose to save the best for last. Doom Eternal looks absolutely fantastic and it’s honestly just the perfect sequel to the 2016 version. It’s bloody, it’s fast-paced, it has an amazing soundtrack and it’s just 20 different kinds of wild, just like the 2016 version was. If you liked the 2016 one then it looks like you’ll love this.

They showed the first major action sequence in the game and it was perfect. Sotgun Grappling Hook, Shoulder Mounted Flamethrower, BFG and everything was shown and it all looks so good! I can’t wait for this game!

They added a new online multiplayer mode called Battle Mode where 1 person plays as the Slayer/Doom Guy and 2 people play as 2 of the various demons and have to try and kill him. I call dibs on Revenent, bottom line.

Release Date – November 22nd, 2019.

Overall, Bethesda didn’t show us enough of the new stuff they’ve been working on and instead focused on the updates to various online and mobile games that they have. As long as they’re still working towards pleasing the fans and creating Great games for the consumer. I love Bethesda as a company and although, I would’ve liked to have seen more, I still love and support this company for all that they’ve given us.
